Verbs That Describe Actions
Verbs are the essence of performance appraisal statements. The verb is the beginning of an action. Most job description statements begin with verbs as they describe the action or work to be taken or done. Depending on the work discipline, specific verbs are repeatedly used and well understood by the professional community.
The easiest approach to performance appraisal phrasings is to begin with the very same statement used in the job description and then quantify or qualify the statement with an adverb or adjective.
