Smart Objects

The introduction of first Smart Objects and then Smart Filters has had an incredibly significant impact on the way we work in Photoshop. No longer do we need to think this worrisome thought: “If I save the document, I won’t be able to change my mind.”

The best way I can think of to describe a Smart Object is as a container—a special, magical container! Think of it this way: When you convert a layer to a Smart Object, you are putting the contents of that layer into a protective container.
