Insert Path

The Insert Path command lets you include an existing Photoshop path (or a path pasted from Adobe Illustrator) in an action. The path must be in the current document to make it visible in the Paths panel. You can use this command as you’re recording the action or, similar to the Insert Stop command, add it after you finish recording.

Remember, this only works when a path exists in a document—that means that you cannot record an action in one document and play it in another document unless the same path is in both documents. As a result, the option to insert a path may not be quite as useful in practicality.
