Two space helmets, 2008

This is the opposite of the previous image. Far from carefully fitting things inside, we carefully break them in half, and for a good reason. On separate occasions, I shot two famous space helmets: Apollo and Darth Vader (they’re kept very far apart, one in Houston, the other in a secret warehouse in San Rafael), but wanted to show them together. Two alternatives are shown smaller here—simply side by side, and joined. This framing is too wide and, well, pedestrian.
