A specialized role appears when the NPD process emphasizes the importance of quantitative information. Process models based on total quality management (TQM), cycle time management (CTM), and portfolio management devour large amounts of in-process and output data. A process analyst is needed to generate the necessary process metrics and guide the flow of process information.
