I do wish such a brilliant title had been my idea, but unfortunately I can’t claim it. I am, alas, forced to admit that I borrowed it from The Economist, the prestigious British publication that specialises in international relations and economy.[1] The author used this phrase to title an article dealing with the fact that it is essential that female talent be rendered profitable. The article appeared in 2006, just before the beginning of the crisis, and it strove to alert its readers to the menace of the dangerous economic burden arising from the under-use of the female labour force.
