1. Background and Discussion
Innovation and creativity are two very similar concepts, so intimately interwoven that you can find plenty of people writing about them as though they meant the same thing, but they do not. So I shall begin by clarifying their meanings.
An innovation is the outcome of an idea (a new creative contribution) with an application and an entry into the market. In comparison, creativity is “the faculty of creation or the capacity to create”. The difference between the two is therefore the possible profitability of an idea.
