Another rationale for using the JPEG file format is to extend the magnification of your lens. According to Panasonic, you can make your lens provide 2× more magnification with no loss of quality. This claim seems too good to be true—and in a way, it is. However, studying the camera specifications and analyzing what is going on reveals the truth in Panasonic’s claim.
