Candace pushed through the hanging plastic at what had once been the far edge of The Open Note’s coworking space and embraced Sam, Allen, and Becca in turn. She laughed as she saw that she’d gotten construction dust on all three of them.
“What do you think?” Candace said. “We’ve expanded into next door here. We’ve got three other branches opening up next quarter in our biggest markets yet. It’s all coming together!”
“Looks great, Candace,” Sam said. “You should be so proud.”
“I am!” she gushed. “I’d offer each of you a cookie, but I’m afraid they’d be covered in sawdust.”
