14Batteries and Power Options

Battery technology has come a long way in the last few years, and we now have more options than ever before to power our Nikon flashes. My preference is to use rechargeable batteries since their cost is low and their performance is high. The SB-500, SB-600, SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, and SB-910 use AA cells, while the SU-800 and SB-R200 use CR-123 cells. I find that I can buy good-quality AA rechargeables for around $1.00 per cell and CR-123 batteries for around $1.50 to $2.00 per cell.
