He is president of Deal Architect Inc., a technology advisory firm that helps clients take advantage of disruptive technology trends such as cloud computing and emerging technology innovation areas before they go mainstream. Between this firm and at a previous role at the technology research firm Gartner, Inc., he has helped clients evaluate and negotiate more than $10 billion in technology contracts. The Black Book of Outsourcing has recognized his firm as one of its top advisory boutiques.

He is author of The New Polymath (Wiley 2010), a widely praised book—one reviewer called it “an innovation firehose”—which analyzed the coming convergence of infotech, biotech, nanotech, cleantech, and healthtech.

He also writes two well-read technology blogs. New Florence. New Renaissance has focused on innovation for more than six years and has cataloged more than 2,000 innovative technologies, companies, and projects. They cover more than 40 technology categories, from mobile computing to smart products. His other blog, Deal Architect, focuses on economics and waste in technology and was rated by The Industry Standard as one of its favorites.
