Some Policy Recommendations
It would be premature to put forward firm policy recommendations for several reasons. First, I am too involved in the markets to give the matter serious consideration. The drama currently unfolding is all-absorbing, and I have a lot at stake. I shall have to distance myself from the market to be able to think in a more detached manner. Second, not much can be expected from the current administration. Major new initiatives will have to await the new president, and only a Democratic president can be expected to turn things around and lead the nation in a new direction.
