The Four As

Ask the right questions and the truth will come out. You may be able to see situations and trends you didn’t see before. You will force yourself to be crisp, to find the path of least resistance. Every piece of information will tell a small story that is part of a bigger story. It is up to you to orchestrate the essential details, head them all in the same direction, and walk them carefully where they’ve got to go. Think of it this way:

  • Assemble—Bring the relevant data together.

  • Align—Make certain all the facts are headed in the same direction.

  • Apply—Explain how these facts, put together, tell a story.
