The Constraints Myth
When we think of the creative process, we tend to think of outlandish and unrestrained idea generation. We assume that the most creative organizations are full of unbounded workers with unlimited resources building the future however they see fit. We assume that creativity needs total freedom to grow and develop. These assumptions are made because of a belief in the Constraints Myth—the myth that creative potential is dampened by constraints. Many artists subscribe to this myth.
