Tracking Down Drivers

One of the greatest challenges of running a multi-OS system is in locating drivers for your hardware. A driver is a program that is used by the OS to control hardware. Modern x86 PCs are a conglomeration of varied components from dozens of manufacturers. Devices such as video cards, sound cards, and SCSI host adapters all come in dozens of makes and models, and each OS you use must have drivers for each of these components. A single missing or buggy driver for a critical component can render an OS installation useless.
