Foreign HPFS Support

Support for OS/2's HPFS, like Windows NT's NTFS, has cropped up in a variety of OSs, often in read-only form. Most of these drivers are freeware of one variety or another. Most appear to be unique reimplementations with little or no shared code between them.

DOS and Windows 9x HPFS Drivers

Two major HPFS drivers for DOS exist, iHPFS (http://www.student.nada.kth.se/~f96-bet/ihpfs/) and HPFSa (ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/.1/os2/mdos/hpfsa102.zip). The first is a read-only driver distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL, and the second is a read/write shareware driver, although as of early 2000, the package had not been updated since 1995.
