The OS Publisher

One obvious source of help when you run into problems is the publisher of the OS you're using. After all, the OS publisher wrote the OS and so presumably knows it fairly well. The problem is that the OS publisher is a bureaucracy, so that expertise might not be directly accessible to you as an end user. Instead, you're likely to find yourself shunted into a queue of customers asking questions of people who access a database of problems and solutions. If this database is well designed, the technical support desk for the OS publisher might be a good source of help.
