Preparing for More Than One OS

A great deal of advice and information on OS installation applies to all OSs or to a large number of them. Most of this book is devoted to such general-purpose information, albeit with frequent comments and examples relating to specific OSs. This chapter is different, though, because it focuses on the requirements of specific OSs, particularly with respect to overall system configuration and installation. I can't present a complete guide to installing each OS, but I can and do provide tips that should help you get an OS working in conjunction with others.
