The Desire and Need for Multiple OSs

I referred earlier to the Siren's call of running multiple OSs. Before proceeding further, it's important to understand something of the multi-OS appeal. When does that Siren's song lure you to something useful, and when does it lead to wasted time and frustration?

You should keep in mind that maintaining a multi-OS environment can be difficult, and it becomes more difficult the more OSs you add. Just two OSs usually aren't too tricky to maintain. Bump it up to three, four, five, or more and the juggling act can become a full-time job. You should be sure that what you get out of adding these additional OSs is worth the effort.
