Close-Up Photography

A medium format camera design where the lens is connected to the camera with a bellows allows photography at closer distances than the more common camera design where the lens is attached directly to the camera body for the utmost in ruggedness and greatest precision in the optical alignment. Focusing on such a camera is done at all distances, far or close, by extending the bellows more or less, eliminating the need for a focusing mechanism in each lens. While the focusing range is limited by the length of the bellows, you might be able to do most or all close-up work with this type camera.
