The Human Resources Department

This is the gold mine of unknown sources. I’ve found HR to be particularly helpful in some areas:

Programs. Many programs and trainers are hidden away in the human resources department and are not well publicized. One company I worked for had a huge library of video and DVD programs that had never been used!

Speakers and consultants. HR departments often have contracts and contacts with outside trainers, facilitators, and speakers that they know from experience. Here is a little known fact: the HR department is often asked to provide elements for meetings, and often those elements are the training elements.

Talent. Because they are HR people, they usually know who in each department is a hidden resource or talent. ...
