Great ideas are great because they are needed. Stephen Covey talks of “the urgent vs. the important.” Things that are important but are not urgent do not get much attention in business. They’re nice-to-have or “someday” issues. Everyone’s first priority is to take care of the things that are both important and urgent.

Your organization will need compelling reasons to consider novel, fresh, and uncomfortable ideas. Finding a solution must be important enough to overcome our mental and physical inertia. That is why they say that necessity is the mother of invention.
