Contract Do’s and Don’ts

Consulting agreements are contracts. Contracts differ from informal agreements in that contracts create binding obligations between parties. Contracts have definite legal consequences, so client organizations and consultants have to understand the legal nature of the contractual relationship they are creating. You will want to obtain legal advice before finalizing any consulting agreement or contract.

This may be obvious, but it’s worth mentioning: Before signing an agreement with the consultant, you must make sure that:

•   You understand and agree to every term and condition of the contract.

•   Your consultant understands and agrees to every term and condition of the contract.
