Via e-mail, Katrina Stort, Sales Manager for a beverage supply company, wrote a succinct e-mail to her employee Jamal Wilson saying that she wanted to have a coaching session over the phone some time in the next week. Jamal was getting established in a new sales territory and Katrina wanted to clarify his short-term goals.

Once they agreed on a time, Katrina sent Jamal a copy of the things she wanted to discuss when they spoke and asked him for his feedback on the agenda. Katrina also faxed Jamal suggested guidelines for developing new customers from a company publication.
