As a team coach, the focus shifts to the team’s accomplishment of its objectives and the development of team capabilities. To do this, you first need to establish the best possible team norms.

Effective team norms include:

1.  Shared purpose.

2.  Pervasive information sharing.

3.  Optimal participation.

4.  No hidden agendas.

5.  Trust in co-workers.

Shared Purpose

If a group of people has different purposes and goals, they can’t operate effectively as a team. A team coach helps communicate the purpose and goals of the team and clarifies the direction for team development.
