A quick review of the past millennium brings to mind hundreds of courageous men and women who accomplished extraordinary feats through their fierce individualism and their uniquely heroic acts. Yes, sole leadership produced unprecedented results in the last millennium. And it will fail in the next.

Leadership in the future will require a new style. Leaders cannot just go it alone and expect to succeed. A critical mass of committed and capable people is required for success. In a global, interdependent, and collaborative world, organizations need soul leadership to continue the momentum that was established during the last decade of the 20th century.
