Describing the event includes the ability to understand the type of event that has occurred, the significance of the event and the demands created by it.

Events can be unexpected or expected, positive or negative.  There are many types of unexpected events such as job loss, job transfer or an equipment malfunction.

Expected events may include accepting a new job offer, opening a new division, introducing new computer systems or planning stages of corporate culture change.
