A Manager’s Pocket Guide to Effective Writing is a how-to-write book. Intended for managers, the Guide works well as a self-directed learning text, but it can also be used as the basis for business in-service training. The book’s primary purpose is to teach the writing process using a step-by-step method that takes the mystery out of writing.

The book divides the writing process into ten steps, from the development of the idea (exploring) to the final edit (ending).
