THE CONCLUSION

Finally, after you have thoroughly developed your main points in the body, you need to sum up your points in a conclusion. First, you should restate your thesis for the readers. Restating the thesis in light of all the detail you’ve just provided establishes a final and convincing overview for the readers. Next, hammer home the main points that supported your thesis so well. Now your readers can focus all of the evidence presented in the body back onto the thesis. You can do this by reviewing the main points, perhaps by commenting on them while restating the thesis. For example:

Television has brought about many changes in our society, though not all of these societal changes have been good. Television has educated our children ...
