WARN—WORKER ADJUSTMENT AND RETRAINING NOTIFICATION OF 1988

This law makes it mandatory for an employer who is going to have a “massive layoff” or close a facility to give employees a 60-day notice of its intent if the employer’s action involves more than 50 people. The intent is to give affected employees time to find other employment to plan for their employment loss.
