FORMATTING A MANUSCRIPT SPEECH

The physical appearance of the manuscript is most important to the speaker. A poorly formatted speech throws roadblocks in front of the speaker. Fortunately, there are some ways to overcome these pitfalls.

1.   Use Large Fonts. Computers come equipped with a variety of type fonts that are larger and easier to read. The extra size also makes for shorter, more manageable eye sweeps across the page. You absorb the material quicker, with less eye strain, and you can give the audience more eye contact because your eyes are not riveted on tiny print.
