SELF-EDITING

Perhaps the fastest but most difficult editing task you can perform is self-editing. Because you, as an author, are so close to your own speech, it’s difficult to get far enough away to become objective. But the reality of the workplace is that often you don’t have someone handy to respond or circumstances won’t permit outside response. So, you only have yourself to rely on for editing. Here are some tips to help you get enough distance to be a more objective selfeditor:
