ACTIONS TO SUPPORT A FINDING OF NOT GUILTY

When the information gathered does not support the allegations, it is suggested that you meet with each party separately to inform them of the findings. (You will bring them together later to work out their differences and feelings.) The alleged harasser may want something in writing from you confirming your findings. This is a natural reaction to something as serious as harassment. Suggested wording will look something like this:

I Mr. John Doe:

We have completed our investigation concerning your alleged harassment. The process involved interviewing a number of individuals supplied by you and the charging party. As a result, it is our reasoned conclusion that there is a misunderstanding of the actions ...
