Exercise—Drafting the Goal Statement

Using the two-step process, write your first draft.

Step A Goal Statement

Write down the objective or task that you would like the team to accomplish. Do you want them to reduce costs? Increase sales? Enhance quality? Improve customer service?

Step B Expected Outcomes

Specify the standard or target to be reached. For example, produce sixty units per hour, attain a 10% lower reject rate, answer all customer inquiries within 24 hours.
