Kurt Lewin was a German social psychologist born in 1890, best known today for his force field analysis model. The author has taken this model and created the practical OPERA coaching sequence, which can be used in many different ways. Lewin devised the model originally to help managers identify the critical driving and restraining forces at work in advance of a decision and consider how best to remove or minimize the restraining forces and strengthen the driving forces.
