Chapter 5. From Idea to Project

Once you’ve found the right idea, you have to give it a form to make it real. Its form includes both its obvious aspects and its hidden ones, such as architecture, mechanisms, and internal structures. For the design and implementation of such aspects, we can develop a process to guide our way. Even though some people seem to follow similar processes unconsciously, codifying it helps us understand what to do when we get stuck and don’t know how to go on.

The path from idea to physical object is also typically constrained by available time and budget. You can make nearly any idea a reality, especially if you understand and can master process, time, and budget.
