Loathe/loath
What a difference a little e makes. To loathe is to feel intense dislike or even hatred. Loath is an adjective meaning "reluctant." Example: "I loathe my job, but I am loath to leave all my friends in the company." Their pronunciations are slightly different. In loathe, the th is pronounced as the th in clothe; in loath the th is pronounced as the th in worth.
