Chapter Eight. Write It Right, Say It Right
In the previous chapter, I gave you eleven suggestions for making language work for you:
Be yourself.
Talk with, not to or at, the audience.
Don't hesitate to use personal references.
Use strong, active verbs and vivid nouns.
Prefer the active to the passive voice.
Use specific, concrete language.
Use jargon sparingly, if at all.
Be aware of word connotations that go beyond their actual meanings.
Set the right tone for your speech.
Get to the point.
Follow the rules.
