3.5. Applying User-Defined Formats

You apply user-defined formats in exactly the same ways you apply standard formats: in a Data Grid, a task, or a query. In this example, two user-defined formats, $RegionName. and HeightGroup. (from sections 3.3 and 3.4), are applied in a List Data task.

Here is a simple report from a List Data task using the Volcanoes data set. The variables Volcano, Region, and Height have been assigned to serve in the List variables role. Notice that the data values are unformatted.
