CONCLUSION

My choice of the motivation entry for the Top Ten probably shows my bias. Herzberg’s motivation and hygiene factors fit into my view that motivation is largely innate and resides in the individual. The manager’s job is to encourage the flow of that motivation and to remove any obstacles that may impede it. Thus the manager needs to minimise the hygiene factors that cause blockages while building the conditions in which:
