HOW DO I PREPARE A STRATEGIC PLAN?

Why it’s important: If you want to reach ‘the top’ you need to demonstrate an ability to think strategically and plan accordingly.

The part you play in the preparation of the strategic plan will depend on three factors: 1) Your role in the organisation; 2) Your seniority; and 3) The organisation’s approach to planning, i.e. top down or bottom up (see Question 56). The following summarises the main stages in the process.
