Why it’s important: Managers are judged on how effective they and their team are in terms of meeting their targets and objectives.
You will see in Question 65 that value for money is concerned with economy, efficiency and effectiveness. Of these, effectiveness is the most important factor because you can be as economic and efficient as you like but if you fail to achieve your objectives then what’s the point? That’s what effectiveness is about – achieving what you set out to achieve.
