Rick Rule Bets on the Chilean Peso

Rick Rule gave us the goods, starting first and foremost with gold and silver bullion.

He admits to holding U.S. dollars (only because he lives part time in the United States). He likes New Zealand’s strong dollar-high real interest rate policy, but don’t jump on that just yet.

The catch is that he, like we, is a little circumspect about their current account and trade deficits relative to GDP.

But here’s the currency he likes without reservation: the Chilean peso. He calls it “the best-run economy on the planet.” Probably doesn’t hurt that it is very mining friendly.

Rule also likes the Loonie (for the reasons we suspected in Chapter 7). And for the crowning finish, he’s holding a small speculative position in Russian rubles.
