60.2. HOSTED RSS READERS

You can also have a Web-based (third-party-hosted) feed reader just by signing up with one of these free services:

http://www.yahoo.com/

http://reader.google.com/

http://www.bloglines.com/

http://www.blogger.com/

This is all well and good, but how can you use RSS in your business?

Well, RSS is used extensively by the social marketing sites (see "Social Media Marketing" for more about that); many of the social marketing methods and sites would not be possible without RSS.

Beyond that, there's also a great deal of value in your ability to get a continuous flow of fresh new content from many sources.

This is great for research, but it is especially powerful when integrated with your existing web site. With this constantly changing content, your site will be more attractive to the search engines.
