7.3. BLOG PINGING SERVICES
Whenever you create a new blog post (and assuming you want people to know it's there), you will want to notify the blog aggregator services—this is referred to as sending them a ping. This tells everyone to come check out your latest post.
Depending on the software you have, this may be done automatically. For instance, WordPress defaults to sending a ping to Ping-O-Matic with each post. If not, here are a couple of services that send to multiple aggregators:
