My mum and dad, Jan and David Hollingworth, introduced to me the mountains for the first time when I was 18 years old. It was a life-changing trip. They passed their love for the mountains onto me, and for that I am forever indebted. Thanks also for giving all of us kids the freedom to do what we wanted with our lives, and for being supportive of our choices.

My wife Natalie Rosser and our daughter Lilly, together the three of us comprise our very own alpine-style team. Natalie you have taught me many things but none more important than the importance of unwavering love. Thanks for supporting me on this climb, all the while you were climbing your own PhD mountain. And Lilly, thanks little one for bringing such joy into our lives and approaching this big new world with such curiosity. You are my favourite little alpinist.
