Introduction

I’ve been doing the blog now since the start of 2008—it’s hard to believe so much time has passed. When I was first told I should start writing a blog, I believe I asked, "What’s a blog?" And then I asked, "Why do I need one?" But now, it’s hard to imagine not writing one. It’s become the companion to my pictures, a way of extending and personalizing the storytelling process I go through as a shooter. I enjoy writing it, and hopefully that comes across in the posts. It’s erratic and haphazard, much like the life of a photographer. It’s the ongoing story of the wonders and woes of being on location, on assignment, for the better part of my life.
