I would like to dedicate this book to my wonderful wife, partner, and best friend Mariko Byrne. She is the one who encouraged me to write a book in the first place. She typed all of my handwritten manuscripts for The Lean Turnaround and kept pushing me forward when I got off track. Likewise, she has been my constant source of encouragement in getting this book to the finish line. Along the way she has nursed me through two cancer surgeries and had one of her own while still managing to have five holes-in-one on the golf course herself (I, by the way, have none). I hope that she has five more aces in the years to come.
