AHENOBARBUS (Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus). An implacable foe of Caesar, Ahenobarbus pushed the Senate to resist the surge of Caesar’s power, more from jealousy than from principle. Despite pushing Rome headlong into civil war through his anti-Caesar policies, Ahenobarbus was pardoned by Caesar for his actions.

ARIOVISTUS. A marauding German chieftain, Ariovistus was a formidable foe of Caesar and his army. Rising to meet the challenge, Caesar led his troops to legendary accomplishments, such as bridging the Rhine and invading Germany.
