Chapter 8. Dealing with Large Data Sets

After reading this chapter, you’ll be able to do the following:

• List three uses for Regions.

• Create a set of Placemarks that include Regions to make them active.

• Create (or locate) a Model that can be shown in three levels of detail and use Regions to display the different versions of the Model.

• Use Regions to display a set of GroundOverlays.

• Explain what a super-overlay is used for. List the two KML elements that are used in a super-overlay.

• Outline a simple data set that could use the extended data feature to preserve its fields and types.
